The Facts on 80-Ball Bingo

Among varieties of bingo games, 80-Ball Bingo can be the most exciting, entertaining and easy to win. It is offered in a variety of places, often with variations on speed of calls, assistive technologies such as card sorting and auto call, and comes with a variety of prize structures where more than one prize is awarded per game. Below is an outline of 80-Ball Bingo and how best to enjoy it.

What Is 80-Ball Bingo?

The 80-Ball Bingo game is played with four-by-four cards containing a square arrangement of 16 numbers. Players may have multiple cards. Number calling occurs at various speeds and, in online versions of the game, there is often opportunity for chat and socializing. Prizes are often awarded for multiple accomplishments, such as any horizontal, vertical or diagonal line of four numbers, a T shape consisting of the top horizontal row and one of the two middle vertical rows, a box involving only the numbers around the edges, and even filling in all 16 squares on a card. This makes 80-Ball Bingo more prize-laden than most bingo games.

How to Enjoy 80-Ball Bingo

Because of its four-number lines in all directions, 80-Ball Bingo tends to be fast-paced even when the number calling is relatively slow. It carries with it a good level of excitement and tension punctuated by bursts of activity when someone wins. It is an excellent variety of bingo to play between longer and slower games of 90-Ball or 75-Ball that are often scheduled. It is also fairly easy to follow, because, depending on the number of cards a player has, the fact that there are only 16 numbers on each card makes finding them relatively effortless. In online 80-Ball Bingo games, auto daub (where cards are automatically daubed by the software) is useful but not essential, and auto sort (where the software automatically sorts cards according to how close they are to bingo) helps but is not a must. Auto call (where a bingo is automatically called by the software rather than the player needing to call it manually), is, of course, always a major advantage, but in 80-Ball Bingo, the fact that there are 80 numbers and only 16 are on each card makes simultaneous wins much less likely and prize sharing uncommon.
