There's a lot of enjoyment to be had when playing on one of many bingo sites. However, there are also particular things that you should or shouldn't do - whether because this is stipulated in your chosen bingo site's rules or, well, it would just be for the benefit of everyone you come into contact with.
You certainly shouldn't underestimate how much it would benefit you particularly. It'd be a shame if you were in your element with your bingo-playing, only to stumble due to not having taken sufficient account of the following do’s and don’ts when playing bingo online...
Do:
Start by sampling online bingo
If your bingo site of choice lets you play any of its games free of charge without needing to make any deposit, take advantage of this opportunity. That way, you will be able to get to grips with how bingo is played on the site and better judge whether this is the right online bingo portal for you.
Always stay polite
A good bingo site is likely to go to many lengths to ensure every player's enjoyment and comfort. This could include closely monitoring chat rooms to check that everyone there is well-behaved. Remember to always treat other players with politeness and respect.
To this end, when in a chat room, you should always look closely at what you have typed before you hit that 'Enter' key. Otherwise, your words could sometimes be misunderstood and inadvertently offend. It would be a pity if you were warned about rudeness that you hadn't even intended.
Learn and use the lingo
Here is one good way that you can help prevent confusion about what you say. Often, chat rooms will see players interacting through typing abbreviated words that you have previously been unfamiliar with. Therefore, before you even enter one of the site's chat rooms, it's worth cluing yourself up on the lingo; it's likely that a lot of it will be usefully explained on a dedicated page of the website.
Abbreviations that you might see particularly often in those chat rooms include "WTG"; meaning "Way to go", this is useful for congratulating players when they win. If you need to take a brief break, such as to go to the toilet or answer the door, type "BRB", which means "Be right back". If your departure will be longer, however, instead say "G2G" - that's "Got to go".
See if the site offers any apps
You might find that the company operating the site also lets you play bingo through other channels - including mobile apps. In our reviews here on Top 10 Best Bingo Sites UK, we will often point out when sites offer apps - and it can be worth digging deep to see what you can do with those apps.
Mecca Bingo, for example, offers not only apps for Android devices and iPhones, but also an app that is specially optimised for iPad and lets users on that tablet play in as many as four bingo rooms simultaneously. It even offers an Apple Watch app; can a bingo experience be more accessible when it's available right on your wrist?

Make regular withdrawals
When you win some money, send it to your bank straight away. You might be tempted to continue playing due to the possibility of adding even more to your winnings; however, you could instead go on a losing streak where the cash you had previously won is frittered away. Transferring winnings to your bank account feels highly satisfying, so don't miss the opportunity to do so when it arises.
Don't:
Reveal personal information
Even if you have a lot of fun with the other people in a chat room, you should never disclose personal information there. Such information that we would warn you against revealing includes your home address, bank account details and password.
You can simply never be certain whether or not the chat room has some unscrupulous people who could, for example, empty your bank account if you reveal your payment details. Some could even correctly guess your password if, for instance, it includes your pet's name and you mention that pet while chatting. Choose a password of random letters and numbers to help prevent a security breach.
Give your chat bonuses to other players
If you regularly play chat games, you might win one, leading the chat host to give you a bonus reward. While some players might ask if you could give them that reward, you should always decline. You could ignore this advice if the chat host is willing to hand the bonus to your choice of player; however, a player could still claim to be bereft of funds while actually having plenty.
Be a sore loser
Yes, it can be frustrating when you are eager to win but repeatedly don't. However, that doesn't entitle you to spoil a happy and polite atmosphere at the site. When a player gets to the jackpot before you do, congratulate them and remind yourself that your own big moment might not be too far away. Don't harass someone who wins; of course, you wouldn't like it if you were that winner.
Be rude
This really ties in with what we have just advised about not being a sore loser; however, it's worth emphasising that you shouldn't be rude to other people on the site, either. You might be having a "bad day at the bingo room", to modify a common saying, but you should avoid venting your frustration on other players or the chat host. Remember that many other people on the site could be having bad days, too; therefore, attacking them could easily land you into an argument.
Follow these pieces of advice and you can go a long way towards ensuring the most enjoyable bingo-playing experience. However, not all of these tips will explicitly touch upon what is specified in the "terms and conditions" that you could read on the site itself; therefore, it’s a good idea to spend some time reading meticulously through the text in full.
